Courses, workshops & private bookings

When 30 days notice, or more is given an individual can cancel and re-book their place on a course, workshop or private bookings once within a 12 month period without penalty.

Full refunds can be issued up to 30 days before an event. After this time, no refunds will be issued. If you are unable to attend with less than 30 days notice, please inform me as soon as possible and I will do my best to re-sell your place. If I am able to find another attendee, I will be able to refund you the cost of your place minus an administration fee.

Substitutes

If you are unable to attend your class/workshop but have a friend or family member who can take your place this is usually acceptable, but it is part of the Terms and Conditions that you must agree this with Lou Lothian Pottery before of the commencement of the class. No attendee can be under the age of 14.

The substitute option is NOT available on the 6 week courses.

Pottery Sales

I take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of my vessels and hope that you will be pleased with your purchase. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please contact me in the first 48 hours after delivery so that I can try my best to resolve the issue.​

Returns & Refunds

1. You have 48 hours to notify me that you wish to return an item. Send notice together with your order number to loulothianpottery@btinternet.com

2. Please inspect your order as soon as you receive it to check if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item. If there is an issue, send photographic evidence of the problem together with your name and order number to: loulothianpottery@btinternet.com

3. Once you have notified me of your intention to return an item you have 14 calendar days to return it.

4. To be eligible for a return and refund, your item must be:

  • Unused and in the same condition you received it

  • Purchased in the last 14 days

  • Repackaged securely, in the original packaging to minimise the risk of breakage on its return journey. I cannot refund any returned item that have been broken or damaged during the return process.

  • Include a receipt, order number or proof of purchase

    The following goods cannot be returned:

  • Special orders

  • Personalised items

  • Commissions where a piece has been specifically made and/or designed for you

  • Sale items

    I reserve the right to refuse returns of any item that does not meet the above return conditions at our sole discretion

5. You are responsible for the item/items until they reach me. You are responsible for the cost and risk of returning the item to me. I cannot be held responsible for goods damaged or lost in return shipment. Therefore, I recommend a tracked, insured or signed for delivery method. I cannot guarantee that I will receive your returned item. You are responsible for paying your own shipping costs for returning your item. Return shipping costs are non-refundable. I cannot issue a refund without actual receipt of the goods.

6. Upon receiving your return, I will inspect the item and notify you about the status of your refund. There are certain situations where only partial or no refunds are granted:

  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to my error

  • You do not contact me within 48 hours of receiving your item notifying that you want to return an item

  • You fail to return the item in a satisfactory manner within 14 days following your notification

  • You fail to contact me within 48hours of receiving your items to notify me you want to return an item, but return the items anyway.

7. If a refund is approved, you’ll be automatically refunded the cost of the item minus the original delivery cost onto your original payment method within 14 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Exchanges
I do not offer exchanges. The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. Like for like exchanges are near impossible as most items I sell are one of a kind, even when pieces such as mugs and pourers have been made in batches there will always be individuals differences. It is better that you choose something yourself.

Gift Vouchers

No returns or refunds are offered on gift vouchers. Gift vouchers cannot be extended beyond their expiry date. Gift vouchers are non-transferrable.
